And we are live!!!

Hello everyone. I hope you are all keeping well.

The time has finally arrived where residents are being switched on to the Gigaloch network for the first time. We've had some bumps along the way haven't we??!

These people and many more over the coming weeks will and are enjoying 1Gbps speeds via the Gigaloch network.

I have been at the cabinet this morning carrying out some testing and wanted to share this with you. I can confirm that the cabinet equipment is working extremely well and as expected.

I am extremely proud of the 3 villages and the support you have given me over the last 2 years and perhaps longer. My goal was always to ensure that our community benefited from all the perks that ultrafast broadband brought and here we go!

Whilst I will not be the first to go live I'm so pleased that many of you will be.

Here are some testing results via WiFi on an Apple iPhone 13 Pro and a Dell Laptop plugged in directly to the consumer router.

Something the eagle eyed amongst you will notice is that these tests don't show the full 1Gbps speeds.

The reason for this is when using WiFi you have to account for overheads which take up some of the total throughput. More information on this can be found here

The below tests were completed on the laptop. I can only apologise for the dusty screen, I really need to get a screen wipe!

And there you have it... Some fantastic speeds wouldn't you agree?

I'm sure that those that are currently connected are already making the most of their connection.
